2007 Reading Fair

August 6 & 7, 2007
Raindate for racing will be October 13th at the Fairgrounds.  However, should racing take place on Monday and Tuesday night as scheduled, a tour race for the Slingshots will still be held on Saturday, October 13th.  More information on this will be posted at a later date. 

Racing is returning to the Reading Fair for the 3rd year!!

Members of RFRHS have been working diligently on the increased sized race track from last year.  The track still has the same long straightaways (200' to 250') and is nice and wide(25' to 30').  

The 2007 Slingshot by Tobias National Tour will be racing again this year along with some other great local racing.  The Reading Fair will be one of the national races run to determine the 2007 Slingshot by Tobias National Champion.

Schedule of events

Monday, August 6 to Saturday, August 11
"RFRHS Mobile Museum and Race Tent"
 The Mobile Museum and Race Tent will be open every night of the Reading Fair.  Come and visit and walk through memory lane.

Monday, August 7
"Flathead Driver's Night"  
Featuring Del Bitting, Leroy Leibelsberger, Russ Smith, Russ Delp, Shorty Kerschner, Whitey Kerschner, Gary Wolford, Chris Skias, Barry Koch, and more.

Driver and Association member lunch - 4:00 to 5:00
Autograph and chat session - 5:00 to 6:00
Interviews with the vintage flathead drivers - 6:00 to 7:00

Slingshot Tech Inspections begin at 3:30.  
    Fuel tanks must be emptied prior to pre-tech.
    Fuel will be offered at $3.00/gallon on Monday night.
    Fuel will be offered for free on second night.
Scaling will occur for all cars at pre-tech.
    Scaling will occur for every heat winner.
    Scaling will occur for every car in the A-main.

Slingshot warm-ups begin no earlier then 6:00.

Nostalgia Slingshot National Tour qualifying heats (Senior event) - 7:00.
Junior National Slingshot Feature to follow senior heats - to follow.
Cash Dash to follow the Junior Feature - to follow.

Tuesday, August 8
"Modified Driver's Night"
Featuring Freddy Adam, Curt Weller, Bobby Eppihimer, Bobby Braxton, Red Coffin, Ronnie Guinther, Earl Derr, Eddie Holland, Harry Garber, Dick Quallio, Gary Gollub, Mose Moore, Ronnie Blatt (owner), Dick Marburger (owner), and more.

Driver and Association member lunch - 4:00 to 5:00
Autograph and chat session - 5:00 to 6:00
